A Note From The President

As you know, Rabbi Kanter has submitted his resignation as of June 30 , 2024.

We thank him for his twenty seven years of religious leadership not to just TI, but to the greater New Bedford Jewish community. We will be having a goodbye Shabbat Kiddush Luncheon for him in June.

Rabbi Kanter's earlier than expected departure, combined with Cantor Schudrich's current health situation has created a need for clergy assistance in order for TI to continue to serve the community. I want to update you on what we have done so far.

We have had a meeting of the Executive  committee and a meeting of the Ritual committee. The Vision committee leadership has been notified. We have scheduled a Board meeting next week. The three committees just mentioned will be taking the lead in the search. I urge interested congregants to join our committees. We would not be able to exist as a Congregation without the dedicated work of all our committee members. I will keep the Congregation apprised over the next few months.
